Why I Blog:

1. I started blogging as a way to spare friends and family mass e-mails when I moved from the U.S. to Russia in 2004.

2. I wanted something about me to be the first thing that people see when they Google my name, not something about sex offender laws in New Jersey. (See: the “Megan” case)

3. I like writing and I like people to read what I write but I don’t have enough imagination to write fiction or enough motivation to become a journalist.

4. Even though there’s plenty of drivel out there in the blogosphere, there’s a lot of good stuff too. I believe in the democracy of the internet, and that everyone should speak their mind, except for American right-wing nutjobs.
