Well, I’m back in DC. I could regale you with tales of how much fun it is to drive 1900 miles over the course of a week, or how much I still have to do before I leave, or bitch about the election some more, but instead I’ll just share a nice e-mail I got in my inbox this morning. If you live in DC, you may even want to participate.

Annual Turtle Count in Rock Creek Park Sunday, Oct 24,

2004 10-1pm

The National Park Service is conducting the second

phase of the annual turtle count. Accompanied by Park

Rangers, we will survey an area and record information

(location, size etc.) about any turtles we see. This

helps the National Park Service monitor the turtle

population. We will also collect litter as we go.

**THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE – TURTLES ARE ACTUALLY

MORE ACTIVE IN WET WEATHER! *** NOTE: IF WE ARE NOT

ABLE TO GET AT LEAST 10 VOLUNTEERS, WE WILL HAVE TO

CANCEL AND TRY TO RESCHEDULE. HOWEVER, THAT MAY NOT BE

UNTIL NEXT YEAR, DUE TO TURTLE HIBERNATION ETC. IF YOU

PLAN TO COME, YOU MUST REGISTER!

Please visit http://www.eteambuilder.org/12068 to

register.

Email Elizabeth Berry at TeamMail@eteambuilder.org if

you have any questions.

What to wear: Dress to get dirty! We recommend long

pants, closed toe shoes, and bring a raincoat in case

of rain.

What to bring: Bring water and a brown bag lunch
