Just a quick missive, as there is only one working computer at this hotel and someone is waiting to use it. Terry and I are having lots of fun in Paris. Last night we went to see a Messiaen opera, Saint Francois d’Assise. It was fabulous, but far too long. We gave up at the second intermission, which was four hours into it.

Today we just walked around the city. It was a good day to do it — slightly chilly, but sunny and nice, so better spent outdoors and not in museums. Tomorrow we rent a car and head south.

We’re staying in this hilarious shabby hotel which has the most illogical floor plan you can imagine. They think Terry’s last name is Jones (it’s Johns) and they’ve referred to us as the Joneses, so my French pseudonym is Mrs. Jones.

About This Blog

I'm an American who started blogging when I moved to Russia in 2004. Eventually I moved to Sweden, where life is pleasant but uneventful, and stopped blogging for lack of interesting things to say. And then I joined Facebook, which further destroyed any motivation for blogging. Maybe someday I'll start blogging again, but for now, this blog is dormant, an archive of The Russia Years: 2004-2008.
