Today as we were coming in from playing outdoors, Danik told me he needed to pee. Danik is like a little mouse; one of the smallest kids, with a really delicate little face that always looks a bit bewildered and scared. We went inside, and gave him priority in taking off his snowsuit so that we could get him to the toilet. The front of his shorts was dry, so I thought we had made it in time. I sat him on my lap to take off his shoes and realised that we hadn’t. Danik looked at the wet spot on my leg, looked at me with his little mouse eyes, and said to me (in Russian) “You peed your pants too?”
